The Pogues' Fairytale

The Brits are a funny people. As evidence, consider that a popular Christmas song in the British Isles features an exchange of insults by an unhappy couple. The Pogues' Fairytale of New York hit No. 2 in the British charts in 1987 (No. 1 in Ireland) and ranked as one of the 100 greatest songs ever in a BBC poll. VH1 UK viewers voted it, in three consecutive years, the best Christmas song ever.
