Oh my dog

Manitoba's NDP government has responded to public concerns about puppy mills.
Proposed amendments to the Animal Care Act include development of a public registry of licensed pet breeders, and requiring vets to report suspected cases of animal neglect.
Dog breeders who break the law will face harsher penalties, including possible imprisonment for a second offence.
That's great news. It shows the government has listened to the concerns of animal-welfare advocates.
Now if only the government would listen to someone other than landlords on the matter of pets in suites.
