Voters have spoken

So ... the votes have been counted and Canada's Conservatives now have 143 seats in the House of Commons. The PM broke his own election law to try for a majority, only to fall short of that goal despite a highly divided opposition. Canada will continue to go slow on cutting greenhouse gas emissions, and the government will stay the course on diminishing then dismantling the Canadian Wheat Board.
Nationwide complaints about the new voter-ID requirements likely will be ignored.
