Just a few thoughts on recent events ...
Rush Limbaugh is still a big fat idiot. Al Franken's observation remains true 13 years later. Limbaugh and his dittoheads can't comprehend the difference between free speech and consequence-free speech, and so they whine because the obnoxious OxyContin junkie got bounced from a group of investors trying to buy an NFL franchise. And Limbaugh pushed douchebaggery to the limit by saying a slander against him is morally equivalent to defending slavery. What an idiot.
Ben Nelson is a big fat idiot. Not only does the nominally Democratic Nebraska senator continue to obstruct meaningful health-care reform in his country, but he also lauds the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus for its bipartisanship. Maybe he's thinking of these words from a Republican in the sportsmen's caucus: "We hunt liberal, tree-hugging Democrats, although it does seem like a waste of good ammunition."
Conservatives aren't the only fossil fools in Canada. Liberals, with an upper-case L, also behave badly on the global-warming file. Liberal MPs joined the government Wednesday, a few weeks before the Copenhagen Conference on climate change, in blocking the Climate Change Accountability Act. As the NDP's environment critic said, the Libs passed on an opportunity "to join the rest of the opposition to direct the government on Canada’s stance for Copenhagen. Instead, they have chosen to side with Conservatives and delay action.” That's not good for the country's reputation, nor is it good for the planet.
Gary Doer is gonna be a boring diplomat, and that's a good thing. The now-former Manitoba premier arrived in Washington this week to start his new job at the Canadian Embassy. In the past, we've had some ambassadors that could be politely described as "colourful" -- like Winnipeg native Allan Gotlieb, who became known for posh parties and a wife who wrote gossipy newspaper columns and slapped her social secretary at an official dinner. Doer, on the other hand, has a regular-guy public persona and a normal, boring family life. He should represent Canada reliably but unspectacularly. And I reckon spectacle is something diplomats generally should avoid.

The "Dildoheads" don't seem to care how truly rotten their leader is. I am attributing that to the fact that in some parts of the US, the gene pool is extremely narrow.
Nice round up of the week's events. I had been considering posting something about the Liberals' climate change position (to say nothing of their poor record while actually in office).
JR: I think the Rushians have painted themselves in an intellectual corner (a small one, natch), having built a cult of personality around their idol rather than considering his ideas (if that's not too strong a word) one by one. Now they're like the Albania-worshipping "Marxist-Leninists" who reflexively defended their beloved Enver Hoxha. (I know that analogy is a bit obscure, but suffice it to say there was a fanatical fringe party in Canadian politics that figured Hoxha's Albania was the only true Communist country.)
PT: Thanks. Now where's your analysis of that NDP leadership election? :-)

The NFL decides who becomes an owner not the other way around.
All this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has to offer is his money and his opinions, (which in my opinion are on the fringes of racism, one mans opinion). There are many more groups biding for the Rams, not just his group. Lets face it there are more men with money (Marshall Faulk) that will gladly fill the slot and the Rams will win or lose depending on how well they work as a team and not on whether or not Rush is an owner.
As for Vick, well he is a player (he has talent not like you, Rush or I, unless you are a NFL player?) and he served his time and the NFL decided we live in the land of second chances, so why not (I personally don’t like it but, oh well). Life has never been fair (NEWS FLASH!)
Now as to the “Free Speech” argument, I guess many of you like myself heard Rush on Thursday “Almost in tears”, priceless. But the last couple of days he now is in his normal ranting and will continue until someone surpasses him, “Free Speech” continues, so what is being stifled, it simply is not true, of course, you may not have a radio, so you might want to get one.

PS – I am sure someone is working to put the tapes together maybe all you subscribers can help, since you are all about getting to the truth?
PPS- Beauty Pageant Judge – Now I understand why he lost the weight, to find a new wife, creepy.
Not really all that obscure, Stimpson. To this day in Albania, there is a significant (and growing) minority who consider Comrade Enver Hoxha to have been the greatest Albanian the world has ever seen. Disgusted with the crime and corruption around them in the here and now, they've pretty much forgotten how Enver kept more of them in camps (per capita) than anywhere else on Earth and how he bankrupted them to build thousands of concrete pillboxes.
Dildoheads are like that. They forget about their idol's slip-ups almost the day he commits them.
Which is not to say that I think Hoxha was any worse than Oxy-Moron is. On the contrary; Hoxha did educate Albania's women, where Oxy-Moron would probably make it legal to buy and sell women.
Rush Limbaugh is indeed still a big fat idiot who is wholly self-obsessed. It would be great to meet him in an empty elevator some day...he'd be unrecognizable upon exiting.
Ben Nelson is a bought-out idiot. Both men are thoroughly disgusting.
JR: Glad my analogy wasn't too obscure. When I re-read it last night I thought to myself, "I am such a nerd!" :-)
JJ: I just hope people hammer that "bought-out" message home to Nelson's constituents until the Nebraska senatorial primary. Nelson must go. Same with Conrad and Baucus.
BTW, 'inspiration' for the first 2 parts of this post came from the Truth Shall Rule and the Politics Plus blogs.
Thanks for the kudo Mr. Stimpson. I'm strictly an amateur so it's flattering to me to see an accomplished writer and thinker as yourself notice and expand upon anything I wrote.
You flatter me, Truth. Just to show that flattery will be rewarded, here's the URL to your blog for my readership (apparently smaller than yours) to copy and paste:
http://truthshallrule.blogspot.com/
(I messed up the hyperlink in my previous comment.)
On 1 - 3, you're dead on. On #4, I don't know enough to comment.
It's not the size of the readership Mr. Stimpson. It's the impact and influence they bring that is important.
Trust me, TomCat, I'm right. ;)
Truth, I can only hope that I influence a few people in their thinking. Otherwise, this whole blogging thing is just a writing exercise.
