My MP went on the CBC News Network last week to defend the Prime Minister's decision to prorogue Parliament. Fair enough; she has a duty to the Conservative party in addition to her duty to Saint Boniface electors.
But then she makes herself look too ill-informed to be in Parliament by insisting she doesn't know who Tom Flanagan is.
Flanagan, who had earlier in the week given a blunt assessment of the latest prorogation, is Harper's former campaign manager and chief of staff.
Seriously, Ms. Glover, shouldn't you know that? Shouldn't any MP, especially one of your party stripe, know that?
I didn't vote for Glover, so my negative assessment may be discounted by some. But it is pretty damning when a right-wing blog like Shotgun at the Western Standard calls a Conservative MP an "ultra-lightweight."
My MP has revealed quite a bit about herself since taking office in late 2008. She has said she wishes there were no such thing as question period in Parliament; she was part of a shameful Tory abuse of government programs for partisan advantage ("Chequegate" or whatever you want to call it); she got busted for trying to "reward" schoolchildren with partisan propaganda, and then said she didn't understand what the fuss was about; and now she's publicly displaying a serious deficit in knowledge that one would expect a Conservative MP to have.
Some might call her a "bimbo," but not me. I'm too much of a gentleman.

It is indeed a good that you are too much the gentleman to resort to using the term 'bimbo' to describe the hapless Mrs. Glover. Kudos on your decorum.
Further, we must face facts, the act of name-calling would be lost on Mrs. Glover, given she's simply too dense to understand why anyone would object to her positions. You see, in Shelly's world, there are only two points of view - the Right One (hers and Harpo's) and the Wrong One (all other dissenting voices).
A simple-minded one note partisan-parrot who was trained to only regurgitate Tory talking points; Mrs. Glover doesn't deserve to be called names. No, what she needs come next election is a big spanking, ... a spanking at the polls!
Interesting read Stimpson. It has prompted me to do some research on your Ms. Glover.
What are you telling me that there are simple-mind politicans up north?Oh well I'll just stay here in Western PA.!
She's very Palin-like in the way she mindlessly spouts talking points and trite expressions.
The way she answered the questions I had to ask myself, is she really human, or is she just a sophisticated version of ELIZA?
Thanks for visiting my blog, N. I see you're a fellow Winnipegger. I don't have many of them on my blogroll, so I'm adding your interesting blog now.
No problem. Thanks for adding me!
